Risks to residents of homeless (houseless) communities in the Echo Park, include fire risks, mold and mildew, landslides, exposure to diseased pests and rodents and an on-going threat of violence. With the lack of access to Echo Park infrastructure (e.g., shelter, stormwater management, water and sanitation systems, electricity, heating, trash services) greatly increases the homeless environmental risk exposure.
